Six part TV series for BBC One and ITV Global adapted from the acclaimed Malorie Blackman novels. Set in an alternate 21st-century Britain in which whites and blacks are segregated following centuries in which Africans had a technological and infrastructural superiority over Europeans who they made their slaves. The series chart's the forbidden love story between ‘Cross’ Sephy, a member of the black ruling class and daughter of a prominent politician, and ‘Nought’ Callum, a white member of the underclass. The soundtrack was created by sourcing a range of contemporary and vintage African and Afro Beat tracks alongside Hip Hop, Soul, Jazz and Electronic tracks coupled with an original score by Matthew Herbert.
